Many students have busy lives outside of school. Home learning should not come at the expense of downtime, family time, or enriching activities like sport and hobbies. Balance is key, and wellbeing matters just as much as academic progress.
Home learning is an opportunity for whānau to support their children to
- consolidate, revise, and practice skills learned in class
- share what they are learning at school
- understand learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom
Home learning should never be a source of stress or frustration. If your child is finding it difficult or becoming upset, it’s perfectly okay to pause, take a break, or leave the task for another time.
Rimu Home Learning (Yrs 5-6)
Students in Rimu can access their home learning through the Rimu Home Learning Google Classroom. These tasks are designed to reinforce concepts being explored at school and offer opportunities for whānau and children to learn together. They are entirely optional and can be completed in a way that suits your family’s routines and commitments.
To access Google Classroom, students need to log into their device using their school email: @adventure.school.nz |
